Application module: Interface

1 Scope

This part of ISO 10303 specifies the application module Interface. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

• the identification of the interface specification;
• the identification of a version of an interface specification;
• the representation of an interaction or connection between two or more products;
• the identification of the interface connector, the part of a product with which one or more other products or the environment will interact.

The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

• the identification of the life cycle phase (designed, planned or realized) of an interface connector, the product or part with which one or more other products will interact;

  NOTE 1   Identification of the life cycle phase of an interface connector is within the scope of the Interface lifecycle module.

• the relationship between interface design, interface as planned (that is an interface which is planned), and interfaces as realized (a an actual interface).

  NOTE 2   The relationship between interface design, interface as planned, and interfaces as realized is within the scope of the Interface lifecycle module.
