1 Scope

This part of ISO 10303 specifies the integrated generic resource constructs for state. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

definition of state;
definition of what is needed for a state to exist;
relationship between two or more states;
assignment of a state to items;
history of state.

The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

the classification of states;
those items to which state may be assigned, such as products, activities, people or organizations.
