ISO TC184/SC4/WG15

The AP238 standard is developed by the digital manufacturing working group (WG15). This group is part of the ISO subcommittee for industrial data (ISO TC184/SC4), which is the same organization that created the STEP standard used for CAD models.

WG15 contains experts from many countries and has been working since 2000 to bring together design, manufacturing, tooling and tolerance information models under the integrated framework defined by the STEP standard.

With such broad scope, WG15 cooperates with groups across the ISO and industry spectrum including TC184/SC1 Industrial Processes, TC261 Additive Manufacturing, TC29 Small Tools, TC39 Machine Tools, TC213 (ANSI Y14.5) - GD&T, OMAC, MTConnect, and QIF.
